Sock Care Guide – How to Make Your Socks Last Longer
To keep your socks comfortable, durable, and looking new for as long as possible, follow these simple care tips.
1. Wash Socks Inside Out
Always turn socks inside out before washing. This helps remove sweat, bacteria, and skin particles while protecting the outer fabric and colors.
2. Wash at Low Temperature
Wash socks at 30–40°C (86–104°F). Lower temperatures protect cotton fibers and elastic threads, helping socks keep their shape and durability.
3. Wash Before First Wear
New socks should be washed before the first use. This removes production residues and allows the fibers to soften and settle naturally.
4. Avoid Tumble Drying
Whenever possible, air dry your socks. High heat from tumble dryers can weaken elastic fibers and shorten the lifespan of your socks.
5. Wash with Similar Colors
To maintain vibrant colors:
-
wash dark socks with dark clothing
-
wash white socks separately
-
wash bright colors with similar shades
6. Do Not Overload the Washing Machine
Avoid overloading your washing machine. Giving socks enough space reduces friction and prevents unnecessary fabric wear.
7. Store Socks Properly
Fold socks together instead of stretching them into tight balls. This helps preserve the elasticity and shape of the sock.

Originals Fine Rib Socks — Khaki
Most socks want to be noticed. Khaki is content to disappear — and that is precisely its value. A warm, desaturated yellow-beige, it is the sock that completes a khaki or tan outfit without adding another variable to manage. Worn tonal with chinos the colour is the same, the leg line is unbroken, and the outfit looks like it was thought about all the way to the ground. The lightest and warmest neutral in the Originals Fine Rib range, and the one with the most specific and underserved use case. Same 200-needle organic combed cotton construction and hand-linked toe, OEKO-TEX certified, knitted in Istanbul. Designed in Copenhagen.
Colour & Styling
Khaki is a warm, muted yellow-beige — lighter and warmer than army green, lighter and less saturated than hot chocolate. It sits in the same tonal family as sand, camel, and ecru — the palette of natural fibres and warm neutrals that has become central to contemporary casual and smart casual dressing. As a sock colour it performs a specific function that no other colour in the range does: it creates a seamless tonal pairing with khaki, sand, and tan trousers, effectively extending the leg line rather than marking a break at the ankle.
This is the sock for someone who takes the details seriously. Against tan chinos and white sneakers, khaki socks make the bottom half read as a considered, cohesive unit. Against tan loafers, the transition from trouser to sock to shoe is invisible — the effect is clean, elongated, and quietly sophisticated. For those who want their socks to be seen, this is the wrong colour. For those who want their outfit to be seen, this is the right one.

FAQ
What shade is khaki — how does it differ from army green and beige?
Khaki is a warm, desaturated yellow-beige — lighter and warmer than army green, which has clear green undertones, and more golden-warm than a cool grey-beige. It sits in the tonal family of sand, camel, and ecru — warm neutral territory rather than green or brown. In the Originals Fine Rib range, khaki is the lightest and warmest of the earth-tone neutrals, calibrated specifically for tonal pairing with khaki and tan trousers.
What is the difference between khaki and army green socks?
Army green is a muted, mid-tone military green with clear olive-green undertones — it reads as a colour, even if a subtle one. Khaki is a desaturated warm beige — it reads as a neutral that belongs to the tan-and-sand palette. Army green works as an earthy accent against dark shoes and varied trouser colours; khaki works best as a tonal pairing that blends into khaki or sand trousers. The choice depends on whether you want the sock to contribute a colour or to complete a palette.
Why would I choose khaki socks over grey or navy?
Navy and light grey melange are cool-toned neutrals — they work across the wardrobe but create a visible contrast against warm tan and khaki trousers. Khaki is a warm-toned neutral — it creates a tonal pairing with those same trousers, making the leg line appear seamless and the outfit appear more considered. If your trousers are khaki, sand, or camel and you want the sock to disappear rather than contrast, khaki is the correct choice where navy or grey would interrupt.
What shoes work best with khaki socks?
Tan and sand leather loafers create a fully tonal combination from the ankle down — one of the most refined pairings in casual menswear. White sneakers offer a clean contrast that keeps the khaki sock visible without competing. Light brown leather Oxford and Derby shoes and suede desert boots in tan or natural leather all complement the warm neutral quality of khaki. Dark shoes — black leather, dark brown — create the strongest contrast and can work in more casual contexts.
Are these socks organic and certified?
Yes. Made from 75% organic combed cotton, 23% polyamide, and 2% elastane. The cotton is certified organic, grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers. The finished sock carries OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, confirming every component — including the khaki dye — has been independently tested and verified free of harmful substances.
Can I buy these as part of a multipack?
Yes — purchasing 10 or more products unlocks a 15% discount. Khaki pairs naturally with army green, hot chocolate, and light grey melange for a complete warm-neutral rotation that covers every casual and smart casual situation. See all curated multipacks →
