Sock Care Guide – How to Make Your Socks Last Longer

To keep your socks comfortable, durable, and looking new for as long as possible, follow these simple care tips.

1. Wash Socks Inside Out

Always turn socks inside out before washing. This helps remove sweat, bacteria, and skin particles while protecting the outer fabric and colors.

2. Wash at Low Temperature

Wash socks at 30–40°C (86–104°F). Lower temperatures protect cotton fibers and elastic threads, helping socks keep their shape and durability.

3. Wash Before First Wear

New socks should be washed before the first use. This removes production residues and allows the fibers to soften and settle naturally.

4. Avoid Tumble Drying

Whenever possible, air dry your socks. High heat from tumble dryers can weaken elastic fibers and shorten the lifespan of your socks.

5. Wash with Similar Colors

To maintain vibrant colors:

  • wash dark socks with dark clothing

  • wash white socks separately

  • wash bright colors with similar shades

6. Do Not Overload the Washing Machine

Avoid overloading your washing machine. Giving socks enough space reduces friction and prevents unnecessary fabric wear.

7. Store Socks Properly

Fold socks together instead of stretching them into tight balls. This helps preserve the elasticity and shape of the sock.

3-Pack Originals Fine Rib Socks — Light Grey Melange / Forest Green / Bordeaux

One textured neutral, one earthy accent, one formal statement — in that order of quietness. Light Grey Melange is the only heathered colour in the Fine Rib range, photographed here in Madrid: understated, versatile, always right. Forest Green is the warm earthy green that belongs in the grey-and-brown wardrobe. Bordeaux is the deliberate formal wine-red that works with every grey trouser and every shade of leather. Three colours that cover the full smart casual and formal range without a single redundant choice. 60 DKK per pair, same as buying individually. 200-needle organic combed cotton, hand-linked toe, OEKO-TEX certified. Designed in Copenhagen.

What's in the Pack — All 3 Pairs
Light Grey Melange The only heathered colour in the Fine Rib range — a textured, mixed-fibre light grey with subtle surface variation. Photographed in Madrid. Works with grey, navy, and white across every dress code.
Forest Green Warm, deep earthy green — the accent colour for grey wool and brown leather. Formal-capable and quietly considered. The green that goes everywhere without ever being obvious.
Bordeaux Deep, cool wine-red — the most formal accent in the pack. Strong with charcoal and dark navy suit trousers, sophisticated with brown and tan leather, unmistakeably deliberate in every context.

The palette logic here is precisely calibrated. Light Grey Melange is the neutral anchor: it tones with grey trousers, pairs with white and navy, and provides texture rather than colour. Forest Green is the earthy mid-register: warm, considered, and broad enough in its wardrobe reach to feel like a neutral in the right contexts. Bordeaux is the deliberate accent: the colour that tells you someone made a choice. All three sit in a restrained, muted register — none of them require explanation, and none of them compete with each other.

The product images confirm the territory: Light Grey Melange on a street in Madrid (easy, considered, European), Army Green worn under a navy suit in the video (formal, capable, understated), Forest Green with Reebok trainers in a related pack shot (casual breadth confirmed). Bordeaux is the one you reach for on the day the outfit earns an opinion.

Best footwear across the pack:

  • Brown and tan leather Oxford, Derby, and loafer — Forest Green is the strongest companion; Bordeaux provides restrained formal contrast; Light Grey Melange is cool against warm leather — see loafer guide →
  • Black leather — Bordeaux and Light Grey Melange both work in formal contexts
  • White and grey suede sneakers — Light Grey Melange is the strongest; Forest Green reads as earthy — see sneaker guide →
  • Tan suede Chelsea and chukka boots — all three work; Forest Green and Bordeaux create the strongest visual — see boots guide →

Best trousers: Charcoal and mid-grey wool suit trousers (the definitive pairing for all three) · Dark navy suiting (Bordeaux is particularly strong) · Dark denim · Camel and cream chinos (Forest Green tones beautifully) · Olive and khaki

FAQ

What are the exact three colours — the product title says "Grey / Green / Bordeaux"?

The three specific colours are: Light Grey Melange (the only heathered, textured grey in the Fine Rib range — a mixed-fibre light grey, distinct from the flat Soft Charcoal), Forest Green (warm deep earthy green — the formal-capable accent for grey and brown wardrobes), and Bordeaux (deep cool wine-red — the most formal accent in the pack). The featured image filename confirms all three: Forest Green, Grey Melange, and Bordeaux.

How is this pack different from the other grey-green 3-packs?

There are three 3-packs in this tonal family. This one — Light Grey Melange / Forest Green / Bordeaux — is the most formal of the three: it adds Bordeaux as a deep wine-red accent that leans toward charcoal suits and autumn dressing. The lighter grey-green pack uses Army Green instead of Forest Green (more utility-neutral, less formal), and no accent colour. The Forest Green / Charcoal / Grey pack uses Soft Charcoal (dark grey) instead of Bordeaux, making it the darkest and most formal of the three. This pack — with Light Grey Melange and Bordeaux — is the one that balances light texture, earthy green, and a deliberate formal accent most evenly.

Can Bordeaux be worn in formal business contexts?

Yes — Bordeaux is one of the most formal-capable accent colours in the Fine Rib range. It is a deep, cool wine-red with no brightness or warmth, which means it reads as sophisticated rather than bold against charcoal, dark navy, and mid-grey suit trousers. With grey flannel and brown leather Oxford shoes it provides exactly the kind of restrained colour accent that formal dressing benefits from. See the guide to wearing red / Bordeaux socks →

What makes Light Grey Melange different from a standard grey sock?

Light Grey Melange is the only heathered colour in the Fine Rib range — knitted from fibres of slightly varying tones to create a subtle surface texture rather than a flat, uniform colour. It sits in the light-to-mid grey zone, closest to flannel grey or heather grey, and provides visual depth that a solid grey cannot. Unlike Soft Charcoal (which is flat dark grey), the Melange is lighter, softer in tone, and visually more interesting at close range while still reading as a straightforward neutral from a distance.

Are all three pairs organic and certified?

Yes. All three are made from 75% organic combed cotton, 23% polyamide, and 2% elastane. Every pair carries OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, confirming every component — including all dyes — has been independently tested and verified free of harmful substances.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes — worldwide, with free shipping above 75€ / 75£ / 100 USD / 400 DKK. 99.2% of orders ship the same day. Full shipping information →
