A hand-linked toe is closed by hand using a single thread, creating a virtually flat seam with no ridge. Mass-market socks leave a small ridge you can feel through dress shoes. The hand-linked finish is used by every premium sock brand of consequence.

Democratique makes three distinct striped constructions. The Athletique Classique Clean Stripes is a heavy-rib crew sock with a bold white-ground stripe band — for sneakers and loafers. The Originals Ultralight Stripes is a fine-gauge sock with micro-stripes that read almost as a solid from a distance — for dress shoes. The Originals Fine Rib Stripes offers two-colour fine rib stripes for casual tailoring.
