A hand-linked toe is closed by hand using a single thread, creating a virtually flat seam with no ridge. Mass-market socks leave a small ridge you can feel through dress shoes. The hand-linked finish is used by every premium sock brand of consequence.

Yes. The cotton is certified organic. The finished sock carries OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, testing every component — fibre, dye, elastic, thread — for harmful substances.

Democratique uses 75% organic combed cotton — naturally soft, breathable, and free of the rougher fibres that cause irritation. The 200-needle knit produces a smooth, dense fabric with no loose fibres against the skin. Every pair is finished with a hand-linked toe seam closed by hand, eliminating the raised ridge that causes friction in mass-market socks.
