What is a hand-linked toe seam?

A hand-linked toe is closed by hand using a single thread, creating a virtually flat seam with no ridge. Mass-market socks leave a small ridge you can feel through dress shoes. The hand-linked finish is used by every premium sock brand of consequence.

Are Democratique socks certified organic?

Yes. The cotton is certified organic. The finished sock carries OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, testing every component — fibre, dye, elastic, thread — for harmful substances.

How long do Democratique socks last?

3-5 years of regular wear with proper care. Wash inside out at 30 degrees C, air dry. Do not tumble dry.

Since 2011 we have produced heavy knitted socks in high quality organic cotton. We call all our heavy knitted socks RELAX, and most of them have a unique texture and a twisted yarn melange look. Warmer during winter, but loose enough in the knitting to wear all year.
